Policies and Economics of Digital Multimedia Transmission
There are different Standards of digital multimedia transmission,
for example DVB in Europe and ISDB in Japan and DMB in
Korea, with different delivery system (example MPEG-2,
MPEG-4).This paper describe an overview of Digital Multimedia
Transmission (DMT) technologies. The economic aspects of
digital content & software solution industry as a strategic key in
the future will be discussed. The study then focuses on some
important policy and technology issues, such S-DMB, T-DMB,
Digital Video Broadcasting - Handheld (DVB-H) and concludes
DMT policies for convergence of telecommunications and
broadcasting.
