Using Case-Based Reasoning for detecting computer virus

The typical antivirus approach consists of waiting for a number of computers to be infected, detecting the virus, designing a solution, delivering and deploying a solution. In such a situation, it is very difficult to prevent every machine from being compromised by viruses. In this paper, we propose a new method, for detecting computer viruses, that is based on the technique of Case-Based Reasoning (CBR). In this method: (1) even new viruses that do not exist in the database can be detected (2) The updating of the virus database is done automatically without connecting to the Internet. Whenever a new virus is detected, it will be automatically added to the database used by our application. This presents a major advantage
