How is IJCSI funded?
We promise that access to the research published in IJCSI journal will remain free. However, as there is no charge to access the research, there is an article-processing charge for all published articles.
As a scientific publisher, IJCSI obviously has to be profitable to survive as a service for the scientific community. We believe that if we add value to raw data, we are entitled to charge for access to it. If a journal commissions topical or thematic reviews, and so helps individuals orientate themselves amidst the complexity of available research, it may have a subscription charge.
However, once again, we promise that access to all research will remain free.

Why does IJCSI has article-processing charges?
Publishing with open access is not without costs. IJCSI defrays those costs from article-processing charges, because there is no charge to access its research content, believing instead that immediate, world-wide, barrier-free, open access to the full text of research articles is in the best interests of the scientific community.
Where is my article publication money going?
Publication fees are used to pay for several expenses:
- Manuscript handling from submission to publication
- Electronic composition and production
- Server and website update and maintenance
- Electronic archiving
- ePublication Certificate
- Administrative expenses and other overheads
Compairing IJCSI charges with other publishers
IJCSI's article processing charges are extremely competitive. In general, IJCSI's charges are amongst the lowest of any publisher offering open access publication, see the following comparison table below.

| IJCSI - Publication Fees Details | 125 (online only) | Null |
| Cambridge University Press | 1960 + color charges for some journals | Null |
| BrillOpen | 2180 | Null |
| Sage Open | 2180 | Null |

Why a flat charge rather than one based on page numbers?
The size of an article is a poor indicator of the actual amount of work involved in obtaining peer reviews and in preparing the article for publication. A more useful discriminator might be the state an article is in when submitted, and its complexity, but the lack of objective tools to measure these has lead us to conclude that a flat fee is the fairest approach at this stage.
What is the IJCSI Interview Program (IIP)?
As part of its active contribution in the scientific community, IJCSI is pleased to introduce the IIP program. We believe that a contemporary journal should no more restrict itself to simply publishing research papers like traditional journals does. We put lots of efforts in ensuring our authors, reviewers and followers are highly exposed in the scientific community. One interview is conducted every month and the interview session details are made available on the journal website.
Who is eligible to participate in the IIP?
Participation is open to all academics and researchers at all levels. Researchers from the industry are also encouraged to participate. If you feel you have something to say, share or expose, then the IIP is the perfect platform to do that. We will ensure the maximum exposure of the interview in the scientific community. To get started and/or for more information, simply drop us an email at info@ijcsi.org.
